.NET DirectX 3-D Rendering Student Competition
People frequently send me notices about products and events, hoping that I will help promote them. Most of the time I politely decline, but I received an email this week about a contest that sounded like a worthwhile endeavor given it's focus on recognizing the work of students. Not sure how many developer.* readers out there are students who would be interested in this, but here is the information I received:
The project is a real time 3d rendering competition called The Imagine Cup. Competitors are challenged to tell a story in 3d. Students can collaborate with up to 3 teammates to create the best real time rendering coded in DirectX9 and Visual Studio .NET. Everyone who registers to compete gets a free copy of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. The grand prize for the competition is $8000, and the winners will be flown to the awards ceremony in Yokohama Japan.
We’ve created a micro site with detailed info on the competition, including a trailer and a link to register. You can check it out at:
Please contact the people at the web site listed if you have any questions.
Best,
Dan
