Note on my participation at the October ACM OOPSLA meeting
I was supposed to have contributed to the Essay track for the October meeting of the ACM special interest group on Object Oriented Languages and Systems, but although I wrote an essay, I could not afford to travel to San Diego owing to my financial situation, which is converging with that of ordinary people in Asia by choice.
However, my patient and learned handler and editor, Brian Marick, will work with me to further refine some original ideas, not nostrums so much as reflections on the reality of OO praxis, for next year.
Life is short: art is long.
Looks like I have visa approval for Hong Kong, and I registered on India Monster. But, when I get enquiries from India headhunters I first have to check if they will hire US citizens, and I am also disruptively out of place in most software development groups as I move more into education and I see software people making mistakes.
