Why I Registered
Well, a friend of mine introduced me to the site and, since I've been looking to get back into the whole community again I decided to start where I know there's a friendly face.
A bit about me
I'm one of those people who has been dragged up coding. Not always in the most "commerical" or "acceptable" way. Usually it seems I've been thrown in the deep end and usually managed to swim.
I worked with fellow blogger Chris Gaskell a few years back and still keep in touch with him (Top Bloke)
Anyway - like I said, I need to get back into a community and thought I'd start here. I'll be setting up my own site which intends to allow us Motorbike riders to share routes and experience so I'll be blogging mostly about the development of that. Anything I figure along the way will go here.
What I Do
Well, these days I work for a data research company. We spend much of time writting software to power things like school admissions, elections & electronic marking. It's pretty hectic usually.
Tools Of Choice
- .Net (C# or VB, but please C#)
- Javascript, I'm a total convert and believe those who turn javascript off are missing out....
- Design Patterns - these days I make use of them ;-)
- Test Driven Development
- SQL - the mother (I love SQL)
Great to have you
Nice to see you registered mate, I'm looking forward to your posts.
